This paper focuses on three key questions that district and school leaders face as they transition from a traditional comprehensive high school to smaller personalized learning communities:
“Making the Move” examines how thematic small, personalized learning communities and freshman academies offer promising research-based approaches to significantly reducing school dropout rates between the 9th and 10th grades.
The aim of “Going Small” is to demonstrate how small personalized learning communities provide an optimal platform for the most important elements of effective professional development.
