New Book Praises First Things First's District-wide Approach
"FTF
in the Kansas City, Kansas, district has experienced... a steady increase in improvement
across a decade of reform..."
-
Norman Fruchter
First
Things First (FTF) is one of three initiatives
demonstrating that district-wide school reform is both possible and needed, according
to a new book by Norman Fruchter, a nationally recognized expert in educational
policy and Director of the Community Involvement Program at the Annenberg
Institute for School Reform. Fruchter
uses FTF in Kansas City Kansas Public Schools, in addition to the efforts of two
other reform approaches, to make the case that effective district-wide reform
can result in widespread and sustained improvements in student learning.
