There have been two third-party evaluations of First Things First. The most recent evaluation, "The Challenges of Scaling Up Educational Reform," was conducted by New York based MDRC, a non-profit, non-partisan education and social policy research organization. An earlier evaluation of First Things First, "Turning the Tide," was completed by Youth Development Strategies, Inc. Both evaluations employed rigorous research designs to study the implementation and impact of First Things First.
