MARK KENNEY
As a site manager for IRRE, Mark coordinates the supports and services partner districts need to plan and implement First Things First. He works closely with district- and school-level leaders to develop their internal capacity to sustain the reform as well. He has also joined the IRRE team strengthening the Family and Student Advocacy System, one of the key strategies in First Things First. Mark initially worked with First Things First as a program officer for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, where his grant portfolio focused on improving schools in urban communities. In that role, he partnered with IRRE and the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools on the reform’s first district-wide implementation. Mark has also held positions as a psychologist and administrator in several schools.
Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and master's and education specialist degrees in educational psychology. He earned his doctorate in school psychology from the University of Missouri – Columbia.
