KATE FURANO

Kate Furano works with district and school leaders as they prepare schools to effectively implement First Things First during a year of planning. She takes schools through the complex process of getting small learning communities formed and launched. She works with them as they develop themes and organize to welcome students in the fall.

Kate was previously a resource manager at the Stupski Foundation, where she developed the Foundation’s framework for supporting high school reform efforts and worked with Stupski’s partner districts throughout the country. Kate also held positions in research and program development at Public/Private Ventures (P/PV) and in management of community schools and youth programs in Philadelphia.

Kate holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in public administration from Columbia University.
