JACQUIE GERING
Jacquie works with First Things First districts designing and planning trainings, curricula, activities and other teaching and learning resources to support high-quality implementation of IRRE's framework for reform. Her most recent work has contributed to the Family and Student Advocacy System (FAS), with new classroom activities and trainings to more effectively support teachers to be effective FAS advocates with students. Previously, she helped develop, edit and support implementation of First Things First Literacy, a multi-unit curriculum for struggling readers at the secondary level.
Jacquie's career as an educator has spanned teaching and administrative work on both the elementary and secondary levels. For Kansas City, Kansas (KCK) Public Schools, she created and organized technology-based resources to improve engagement, alignment and rigor. Her involvement in school reform began in 1990 as co-author of the RJR Nabisco Next Century Schools grant and project leader for New Stanley, KCK's Next Century School.
Jacquie holds a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Missouri - Kansas City.
