CAROL HUNTER-GEBOY
Carol is a key member of the team that supports district personnel, school administrators and teachers to implement the Family and Student Advocate System (FAS), one of three key strategies in First Things First. Drawing on more than 35 years of experience in education, she has provided instructional design and training for thousands of teachers in FTF sites and has served as primary author of the Guide to the Family and Student Advocate System.
Before working with IRRE, she authored or co-authored 12 national curricula for use in secondary schools; provided staff development to over 30,000 teachers, youth workers and health care professionals; and designed and implemented training-of-trainers workshops for several national youth-serving organizations. Earlier in her career, she designed and taught courses for parents, served on the psychology faculty of several colleges and universities, and developed architectural standards for low-income housing for the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.
Carol holds a doctorate in human development education from the University of Maryland.
