Use Data Effectively

IRRE Supports

Most districts would like better data on student achievement and instructional practices, but face formidable challenges in producing and using it effectively. IRRE provides intensive support to plan and build four mutually supportive building blocks:

  • Technology: IRRE works with districts to upgrade their data management and reporting infrastructure to generate a focused set of reports, tailored to the needs of each group who will use them. Reports cover student performance and behavior, and teaching and learning observed in the classroom.
  • System Leadership: Our support helps system leaders establish the expectations, conditions, and accountability that promote the appropriate use of data.
  • Data Governance: We work at all levels of the system to establish or strengthen the policies, procedures, and accountability to ensure accurate and timely data.
  • Skills & Capacity: Two separate training sequences build skills in using data, one on student outcomes and one on teaching and learning in the classroom. Each sequence encompasses four sessions that help faculty and staff access data, strengthen data literacy skills, and use a focused process to connect data to concrete strategies.

Intensive on-site coaching visits and embedded professional development, as well as remote consultation, further support and reinforce the skills built during trainings.
